Google Merchant Centre Consultant for eCommerce Stores
Google Merchant Centre Consultant support starts with the product feed, not the campaign.
If your product feed is messy, Google Merchant Centre can quietly limit your visibility, disapprove products, trigger account warnings or send poor data into Performance Max.
I’m Phil Adair, a Sydney-based Google Ads and Merchant Centre consultant. I help Shopify and eCommerce stores fix product feed issues, product disapprovals, shipping errors, pricing mismatches, tracking problems and Merchant Centre setup issues, so Google Shopping and Performance Max have cleaner data to work with.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Google Merchant Centre?
Google Merchant Centre is the platform that stores your product data for Google Shopping and Performance Max. It tells Google what products you sell, the price, availability, shipping details, product images, product titles, descriptions and key identifiers such as GTINs, MPNs and brand names.
If the data inside Google Merchant Centre is wrong or incomplete, your products may not show properly in Google Shopping.
How can Google Merchant Centre issues affect my Google Ads performance?
Google Merchant Centre issues can directly affect Google Shopping and Performance Max results.
Product disapprovals, poor product titles, missing identifiers, incorrect categories, shipping errors, pricing mismatches or out-of-stock products can reduce visibility, limit impressions and waste budget.
A campaign can look active in Google Ads while Merchant Centre is quietly holding back products.
Why are my products disapproved in Google Merchant Centre?
Products are commonly disapproved because of missing product data, incorrect pricing, shipping mismatches, poor images, missing GTINs, policy issues, broken landing pages, unavailable products or mismatched information between Shopify and Google Merchant Centre.
The fix depends on the specific disapproval reason shown inside Merchant Centre diagnostics.
Is Google Merchant Centre the same as Google Shopping?
No. Google Merchant Centre is where your product feed is managed. Google Shopping is where your products can appear across Google’s shopping placements.
Merchant Centre supplies the product data that Google Shopping and Performance Max use. If Merchant Centre has feed issues, your Shopping performance can suffer.
Do Shopify stores need Google Merchant Centre?
Yes, if a Shopify store wants to run Google Shopping or Performance Max campaigns using product listings. Shopify can send product data to Google Merchant Centre through the Shopify Google channel, Simprosys or another feed app.
The setup still needs to be checked carefully because product data, shipping settings, variants and inventory sync can easily cause feed problems.
What does a Google Merchant Centre consultant do?
A Google Merchant Centre consultant reviews your product feed, product approvals, diagnostics, shipping settings, price and availability matching, product titles, categories, GTINs, feed source, Shopify sync setup and any account warnings.
The goal is to fix the issues stopping your products from showing properly in Google Shopping and Performance Max.
Can Merchant Centre problems hurt Performance Max campaigns?
Yes. Performance Max uses your product feed for Shopping placements. If your Merchant Centre feed has weak product titles, disapproved products, missing data or inaccurate shipping and pricing information, Performance Max may struggle to find the right buyers or may spend budget on the wrong products.
Should I fix Merchant Centre before increasing my Google Ads budget?
Yes. Increasing budget before fixing Merchant Centre problems is usually a mistake. If your product feed is weak, your products are disapproved, or your shipping and pricing data is inaccurate, extra budget can simply amplify the problem. Clean feed data gives Shopping and Performance Max a better base to work from.
Do you work with Google Merchant Centre or Google Merchant Center?
Yes. Google officially uses the American spelling, Google Merchant Center. In Australia, many businesses search for Google Merchant Centre. Both refer to the same platform. I use the Australian spelling on this page, but I work with the same Google platform.
Do I need to give you access to my Google Ads or Merchant Centre account?
For a proper review, read-only access is usually best because it lets me see the actual Merchant Centre diagnostics, feed issues, product approval status and campaign setup. If you are not ready to provide access, you can send screenshots first, but screenshots are more limited.
What ad budgets do you usually work with?
I usually work with Shopify and eCommerce stores spending around $2,000 per month or more on Google Ads. At that level, Merchant Centre and feed issues can start costing real money, especially if products are being limited, disapproved or promoted poorly through Performance Max.
Is the Merchant Centre review really free?
Yes. The initial review is free. I’ll look for obvious issues across Google Ads, Performance Max, Google Merchant Centre and your product feed. If there is a clear opportunity to improve the setup, I’ll explain what I’d fix first. There is no obligation to continue.
